I'm Valerie.
I'm the main face behind Quirky Kitten.
I think its really important to get to know your wedding suppliers and have a great relationship with them. So here's a bit about me-
I created Quirky Kitten in 2020 when I was planning my own wedding as I found there were very few suppliers in Northern Ireland that created a truly bespoke, unique styling service for hire.
As a past bride, I understand the stresses involved in wedding planning. I get that every person who is planning a wedding is trying to stick to a budget whist securing top quality reliable suppliers. I also understand how difficult it is choosing and sourcing décor items that will fit with YOU and make your day look and feel magical.
Here are 3 (not very fun) facts about me
- It won't surprise people to know that since I was little I adored creating. Throughout my school years, Art and Design was the obsession of my life. After school, I completed my foundation Diploma in in Art and Design but then 'threw my toys out of the pram' when I was turned down from London College of Fashion and totally changed career paths for a while. The young 18 year old in me couldn't handle the rejection at the the time. Now I am so thankful that I am back on track back and doing what I am truly passionate about and what makes me happy.
- I am am an animal lover and am obsessed with cats! Another obvious one. We currently have two boys, Ollie and Charlie, who we treat like our children. I won't go to bed at night unless I know they are safe and tucked up in bed with us. When someone tells me they hate cats it breaks my heart a little bit.
- My husband and I are obsessed with holidays and visiting new parts of the world. Just 3 months after we first met, we went on a 4 week trip to Asia together-before we were even an official couple. It all started from there and since then we have visited many random places together. I regret not going travelling properly when I was younger so I take a bit of a 'you only live once' approach to life now and we get away as often as we can. I'm at my happiest when the sun is shining on me and I have a cocktail (or a wine) in my hand.
